A dri­ve through a scenic place is always a thrilling expe­ri­ence but some­times this is not always the case. Dri­ving on some roads around the world is an adven­ture that only the bravest of souls should try. Here are the top 15 most cra­zi­est roads in the world that will like­ly make you book a flight instead!

1. Guoliang Tunnel Road, China

Keep your eyes on the road, avoid any mis­takes else you will tum­ble to your death. Yes the Guo­liang 1200 meters long tun­nel road locat­ed in the Tai­hana Moun­tains in Hunan Province, Chi­na, does not tol­er­ate any mis­takes. Scared already? Unfor­tu­nate­ly if you want to go to Guo Liang Cun by road you will have to take this road as it is the only road going to the vil­lage.

2. Ice Road, Northwest Territories, Canada

You will lose track of time as you dri­ve through the beau­ti­ful end­less ice roads in North­west Ter­ri­to­ries in Cana­da. Though stun­ning and mind-blow­ing, cau­tion is advised when dri­ving through the blue ice as the roads can be very slip­pery.

3. Stelvio Pass, Italy

This is one of the high­est paved roads in the world stand­ing at 9,045 feet up and locat­ed in the East­ern Ital­ian Alps. As you dri­ve through Stelvio Pass you will go through 48 bends stretch­ing over a 15-mile dis­tance through a moun­tain pass.

5. Sani Pass, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Sani Pass con­nects Kwazu­lu-Natal and Lesotho. Now this is a road that you should not attempt to take if you are not dri­ving a 4x4 car because it has steep slopes with very poor trac­tion. You can actu­al­ly see remains of cars that unfor­tu­nate­ly could not suc­ceed ascend­ing the pass.

7. Old Chalus Road, Iran

This is one of Iran’s most beau­ti­ful roads that con­nects Chalus city through the Alborz Moun­tains. The crazi­ness sets in dur­ing win­ter when avalanch­es and heavy snow­falls are com­mon mak­ing the nor­mal­ly nar­row and moun­tain­ous ter­rain more dif­fi­cult to nav­i­gate.

8. Paso Internacional Los Libertadores, Argentina/Chile

Fairy Mead­ows Road is one of the most dan­ger­ous roads in the world. It is a nar­row high moun­tain trail with no guardrails to pro­tect you should you miss your step. You are lit­er­al­ly on your own! The oth­er scary part is that the road gets nar­row­er as you get towards the end and you can­not dri­ve at this sec­tion, you can only walk or cycle.

12. Skippers Canyon Road, New Zealand

This road is so nar­row and dan­ger­ous that you can­not use it unless you have a spe­cial per­mit. Most dri­vers find them­selves stuck when they run into anoth­er dri­ver com­ing from the oth­er direc­tion because the road is too nar­row for two cars to pass at the same time.

13. Passo San Boldo, Italy
